Nancy O'Dell's professional career started in Myrtle Beach South Carolina as an anchor and reporter for news with WPDE-TV. Later, she worked at WCBD as a morning anchor and crime reporter. The journalist's report on the lack of response of the police towards DUI incidents in Charleston resulted in an investigation conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, which led to a change in direction from the state authorities on DUI cases. In the year 2000, The Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell by awarding her the Best Report of the Years Award across all South Carolina Media. O'Dell has worked in Charleston working as a journalist and co-anchor for the NBC Miami WTVJ-TV station before moving into Access Hollywood where she is currently a co-anchor and correspondent on weekends. O'Dell anchors the main newscast at Access Hollywood. In addition she is a contributor for NBC News Today and Dateline NBC. She has co-hosted a variety of pre-show arrivals for The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. In addition, she hosted the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
